I originally read about the importance of shining in a blog by Monica Lee at Smart Creative Women.
Monica wrote a post and told us “the world needs you to shine.”
Then, in the blogosphere I read a marketer's call to "choose to live in the sunshine" instead of negativity.
I wrote these statements on stickies and put them on the wall.
My brain tried to think about them and dissect what is means to "shine." Ideas started coming and these ideas helped me; especially when I was feeling down, disillusioned or just plain distracted.
It comes down to a personal choice- shining, that is. We, you and I fellow creative, get to be illuminators of what is good and beautiful and light…or not.
We can choose to consume and not share.
Or, we can choose to live under a dark rain cloud like more people choose to do.
But we need you to shine.
I need you to shine.
Somebody in your sphere of influence needs you to shine. They need a bit of sunlight in their life.
We have serious places to go with this e-course. Well, a little serious and (I hope) a lot of fun, inspiration and motivation.
Mostly, I want this to be a jumpstart for you to start your own creative journey, especially for those of you who allow the dreaded F&P monsters to get in the way.
What's the F&P monster you ask? Fear and Procrastination: two of the biggest nasties that hide under our beds and in our closets. Mostly though, they hang out behind our ears, whispering 37 reasons to not pursue dreams, hit the snooze and forget about doing big, hard things. (I know all about these guys because I allowed them too much room in my ears for a very long time).
But our life is not a dress rehearsal- it's the real deal. If you're ready to start launching and allow your reality to become better than your imagination, I hope you'll enjoy this summer's ecourse.
