I met Stephanie through 48 Days.net, a group forum where people who are serious about pursuing their goals and dreams meat in sub groups to encourage, help, and hold each other accountable. I love Stephanie's enthusiasm for helping people match how they are wired with the right job. We spend significant time in our jobs; it's too big of a deal to be in a job where there is a mismatch between skills/strengths and demands of said job. The process of working towards work we desire takes time and effort. It's hard for all of us. Stephanie encourages us on working through times of transition.
Most of you are in some form of transition. If you set goals in the beginning of the year and you are still keeping at it, you are in transition. I am in my own transition- from my day job that I don't love to my dream job. I started building my business in June of 2013 and have been working diligently at it ever since.
The logo I chose has a butterfly in it. This obviously symbolizes transition, transformation and new life. All things that I help coach people through. It takes an incredible amount of strength and patience in the transition phase. One thing that I did not realize was that part of the transition process is the cocoon phase. This is the phase where it may not feel like anything is happening. Things seem slow and appear like nothing is going on. But inside the cocoon- major transformation is happening. When I get impatient with the small things I have to remind myself that the small things all add up.
We may feel really discouraged in this phase and feel like giving up. Most people do give up in this extremely important phase. The waiting room can be one of the toughest places to be in. This is where the foundation is being laid.
The foundation is the most important part of any building. Without a solid foundation everything you built is at risk. The bigger your goal- the deeper you need to dig. The more important it is to you, the more at stake there is if you do not give it everything you got!
Nothing worth having in life comes easy. Every step is important. With every step you take, you are one step closer to your breakthrough! We are all in this race together. And you finish the race by taking it one step at a time.
Jeff Goins wrote an incredibly helpful book that I love to read and give my clients titled: The In-Between. This book is very helpful in any transition. If you are specifically in a transition from your day job to your dream job I highly recommend reading the book from Jon Acuff, Quitter.
I also frequently write about transition at www.movedbypurpose.net. I am in the process of writing my own book about the process from the moment you uncovered your purpose and the time it takes to actually see it come to pass. Be sure to stay connected for the launch of the book.
I also have an active linked in group that you may join for free. This group is for women in career transition.
If you are really struggling in the transition don't forget that you are not alone. There are many on the journey with you- even if it feels as if no one understands. I offer a transitions group coaching option as well for those that just feel stuck, overwhelmed, and discouraged.
Remember that you are never alone.

Creator of Moved by Purpose
Stephanie has a strong gift of compassion for those around her who are hurting. When she was younger, she was always drawn to show love and be of service to peers who found themselves in tough situations. Recognizing these gifts, mentors in her life talked about how she would make a great Social Worker. Friends and colleagues would often come to her for advice and tell her how she makes for a great Counselor. Following the advice of those around her, Stephanie went to college and earned a degree in Family Studies. She graduated in the fall of 2009 and 6 months later landed her first job in the spring of 2010 as a Social Worker in Detroit. Knowing how much she loved working with people to help make their lives better and over all make a difference in the world, she assumed that she would love the job. To her devastation though, she found herself becoming burned out in less than two years due to the reality that social work is much more administrative and political than care. Having $35,000 in student loan debt, a job that barely paid the bills, and the realization that she was misguided in the education system with how to properly choose a career, Stephanie decided that she had to find out what her true dream career would be. She took the time to look inward to reflect on who she is. This process involved discovering how she is wired, and learning what her strengths, natural talents, passions, and abilities are. She found that by making a serious commitment to herself to learn about who she is and what she really wants that she could make a strategic and intentional plan of action to obtain it. As your coach, she helps you do the same!
As a career and life coach, she is able to truly make a difference in the world and help guide other’s to achieve the abundant life that everyone has the potential to live-including an enriching and fulfilling career. She has helped others who are stuck in life and/or careers they do not like uncover their purpose and apply it daily to fulfilling, meaningful and prosperous life work.
