Trust
firm reliance on the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing Synonyms: confidence, belief, faith, certainty, assurance, conviction, credence, reliableI was hoping for a more glamorous word this year but "trust" came to my gut this morning and I knew that it was IT.
My life has been riddled by a lack of trust and unbelief. And it hit me: the ability to trust- in the value of our gifts, in the grace of God, in the belief that a beautiful life is possible- is the water and sun that enables us to grow, develop and blossom into something beautiful.
A lack of trust erodes the soil of our hearts, our lives, and our creative art work. It exposes our roots, strips away the nutrients we need, and leaves us shrinking in self-protection instead of flying through the wind.
How about you? Have you chosen a word to embrace? It can be anything: fun, challenging, boldness, create, nurture, embrace, dare, celebrate, rest, faith, love, climb, grow, do something scary.
Last year I started with a few words. But I changed them midyear to one word: plant. And truly 2013 was a year of planting. The results of the planting can't be seen yet but that's o.k. It was a planting year.
I'm so eager to hear the creative words YOU are going to embrace for 2014! Please do leave a comment and tell what you are daring to do in 2014!
